IIFA 2025: This time the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards show was held in India. The best performances of the year were honored in various categories at this award ceremony held in Jaipur on 8 and 9 March. This time Gujarati artists also dominated. This is the first time this year that two Gujarati artists have received the award in IIFA.

For the first time two Gujarati artists received the award in IIFA. In which Sneha Desai was awarded the best screenplay award for the film ‘Lapat Ladies’. While Janaki Bodywala received the Best Supporting Actress Award for the film Satan.

The film ‘Lapta Ladies’, directed by Kiran Rao and under the banner of Aamir Khan’s production house, will be released in theaters on 1 March 2024.

If we talk about Sneha Desai, he has graduated and studied postgraduate from Narsi Monji Institute, one of the prestigious colleges in Mumbai. He then married Alap Desai, whose entire family is associated with music and theater.

Mumbai has a craze of Gujarati plays, so he started writing on the suggestion of friends. After the plays, television serial producers Atish Kapadia and JD Majithia offered me to write the serial and I started writing ‘Vagale Ki Duniya’ and ‘Pushpa Impossible’.

Sneha is a Gujarati and has written many serials and plays, which is why he was also asked to write for Aamir Khan’s son Junaid’s first film ‘Maharaj’. Then he also tried his hand in dialogue writing. Then, I received a proposal to play a role in the film missing ladies.

 

Janaki Bodywala

Gujarati actress Janaki Bodywala has won the Best Supporting Actress Award for the film ‘Shaitan’. Janaki was born on 30 October 1995 in Ahmedabad to Bharat and Kashmiri Bodywala. He has a brother, Dhrupad Bodywala. Janaki made his schooling MK of Ahmedabad. From the secondary and higher secondary school. He obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from Goenka Research Institute of Dental Sciences in Gandhinagar.

Janaki also participated in Miss India 2019, where she was among the top 3 finalists of Miss India Gujarat. Janaki started her career with the film ‘Chhello Day’ directed by Krishnadeva Yagnik.

Janaki said, ‘Oh! He acted in films like ‘Teri’, ‘Tamburo’, ‘Dawood Pakda’, ‘Nadiidosh’ and ‘Vash’. In which he proved to be a blockbuster film and in the year 2024 Ajay Devgan, Jyothika and R.K. Vikas Bahl made a Hindi remake Satan with Madhavan, in which Janaki also acted.
