Fatehpur, 15 November (HS). Two real brothers, who were absconding in the double murder case in the district on Thursday night, have been arrested by the joint team of the police station and the Intelligence Wing during an encounter. During the encounter, both were injured when the criminals shot them in the legs and were admitted to a nearby government hospital with their injuries. Both are vicious criminals. Both were wanted in a murder case. The police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each for the arrest of the absconding criminals.

Recently, due to a water filling dispute in Khairai village of Khaga Kotwali area, real brothers Ishtiaq and Dilshad, living in the village, had killed two people by hitting them on the head with sticks. After this they fled from the spot. In this case, the police registered a case under relevant sections and started searching for the accused. On Thursday night, both the police teams led by Khaga Kotwal Hemant Mishra and Intelligence Wing in-charge Arun Chaturvedi were checking on Kishanpur Road. Then two persons riding a motorcycle were seen coming from the front. When the police team signaled the motorcyclists to stop, the person sitting behind on the motorcycle opened fire on the police team with a pistol. Later fled towards Kishanpur. The police team chased the miscreants. During this time, seeing the police team surrounded on the track of Badi Canal Pulia Khairai Marg, the miscreants again fired at the police team. In response to this, both the miscreants were shot in the legs by the police. In injured condition, both the miscreants have been admitted to CHC Hardo for treatment. Police have recovered 02 pistols, 03 spent bullets, 1700 rupees and a motorcycle from both of them.

Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Shankar Mishra said that both are vicious criminals. For the past several years, many major crimes including cow slaughter and robbery have been committed. Recently, the police was searching for both the criminals named in a case of double murder. A reward of Rs 25-25 thousand has been announced on both.
