Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Special Police Establishment (SPE) Lokayukta police Bhopal have registered a case against sub inspector and head constable posted at Sukhi Sewaniya police station for allegedly demanding Rs 10,000 from kiln owner , said police here on Monday.

SP, DK Rathore said that the SI Swati Dubey and head constable Mukesh Kumar had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from a brick kiln owner threatening that if he failed to pay the amount he would be implicated in fake kidnapping case.

The police laid a trap, to catch the accused red handed

Earlier, a 14-year-old grandson of a woman working at the kiln had gone missing. The boy was later traced at Chattarpur. Following the incident, the two cops had allegedly called up the brick kiln owner demanding the amount, threatening that he would be charged with kidnapping the boy. The man approached Lokayukta and reported the matter. The police formed a trap team to catch hold of the two cops red-handed.

Interestingly, the officials made the kiln owner go and hand over the amount to the two cops, however, the latter did not turn up to collect the cash. Finally, the SPE registered a case against the cops on the basis of the digital evidence and recorded messages.
