Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four-day Tablighi Jamaat Ijtema, an Islamic global congregation, is all set to begin today (Friday), at Itkhedi in which lakhs of Muslims from all across the country are expected to participate. Religious scholars will deliver ‘Takreers’ discourses during the four-day congregation which will come to an end on December 2.
Muslim religious leaders will deliver discourse to the Jamaats on different subjects. Mass marriage will be held on the concluding day. Around 25,000 volunteers have been deployed to look into the arrangements. Around 1000 buses have been deployed to ferry the devotees. Traffic police have regulated vehicular movement in the area and diverted the traffic.
District administration has also instructed the officers of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), PWD, Health Department, PHE, Fire Brigade, Electricity Department and other departments to ensure proper management at the venue. There is a total ban on the use of single-use plastic at Ijtima. Besides, there will be separate food stalls for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Separate food zones have also been made for the visitors.
Dr Umar Hafeez Khan, media coordinator Itima committee informed Free Press, “25,000 volunteers have been deployed at the venue. There will be 80 food zones and 400 food stalls have been installed. Around 2 crore litre water used at the venue will be recycled for irrigation purposes. Two bike ambulances have also been arranged. Transport department refused to provide buses. We have arranged 1000 passenger buses for Ijtema purposes.”
