Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City crime branch arrested two persons while they were carrying MD drugs worth Rs 2 lakh. They were allegedly trying to deliver the drugs to the youths during the parties of December 31.  

On the instruction of the senior officers, the crime branch team reached Suryadev Nagar Square and caught two persons named Avesh Khan of Raoji Bazar area and Sumit Mourya of Bhanwarkuan area of the city. Both the accused were booked for their involvement in different criminal activities.

During a search, about 14 grams of MD drugs were recovered from them. The value of the drugs is Rs 2 lakh in the international market.

They allegedly informed the crime branch officials that they used to supply the drugs to the youths preparing a token of 1 gram of drug. They allegedly informed that they were planning to supply the drugs in tokens to the youths for arties of 31st in the city.

A case under section 8/22 of NDPS Act was registered against them and the accused are being questioned for their source of MD drugs. Their bike was also seized by the crime branch.  

Police said that in 2024, 97 cases were registered and 131 accused were arrested with drugs worth Rs 5 crore.
