Bank Holidays: Tomorrow Tuesday, all public and private sector banks will remain closed. All banks will remain closed in Goa on 3rd December. However, banks will remain open in all other states. Banks are going to remain closed for 17 days in December. Due to 5 Sundays this month, bank employees will get 7 weekly holidays i.e. all Sundays and second-fourth Saturdays. Banks will remain closed on Tuesday 3 December

RBI has asked to keep banks closed in Goa. St. Francis Xavier festival will be celebrated in Goa on Tuesday 3rd December. It is celebrated every year on 3 December, which is a special religious occasion for the Christian community. This festival is celebrated to pay tribute to the life of St. Francis Xavier and his preaching services. On this special festival thousands of devotees gather in Goa to offer prayers and seek blessings at the holy tomb of St. Francis Xavier. The day is an opportunity to remember his teachings, selfless service and message of peace and brotherhood in the society. During this time, special prayers and processions are organized in churches, showing people’s faith and devotion towards St. Francis Xavier.

Banks will remain closed for 17 days in the month of December

According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed in December due to national and local festivals as well as weekly holidays. However, these 17 days of holidays will not be the same in all states, as local festival holidays may vary from state to state. Bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, but customers can use digital facilities like internet banking, mobile banking apps and ATMs. Customers are advised to settle their banking work well in advance to avoid any hassles during the holidays.

12 December (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Shillong due to Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma.

18 December (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in Shillong due to the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.

19 December (Thursday): Banks will remain closed only in Goa on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.

22 December (Sunday): weekly holiday

24 December (Tuesday): Banks will remain closed in Kohima, Aizawl on Christmas eve.

25 December (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in all states due to the national holiday of Christmas.

26 December (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in some states due to Christmas celebrations.

27 December (Friday): Banks will remain closed in some states due to Christmas celebrations.

28 December (Saturday): fourth saturday

29 December (Sunday): weekly holiday

30 December (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Shillong on the occasion of U Kiang Nangbah.

31 December (Tuesday): New Year’s Eve (Banks will remain closed due to local holidays in some states)
