Stock market today: The atmosphere of chaos in the stock market continues. As soon as Trump’s tariff war was confirmed, IT, technology, auto and telecom shares declined drastically. Today, the Sensex fell 452.4 points after opening 200 points. However, it was trading at a low of 112.99 points at 11.03 am due to increased buying at a lower level.
Nifty broke 22000 levels
After the announcement by Donald Trump that interpersonal tariffs will be implemented from April 2, in addition to imposing tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, the concerns of tariff war have increased worldwide. The effect of which has also been seen on the Indian stock market. The Nifty has been struggling to maintain a level of 22,000 for the last few days. Today it broke the level of 22000 to 21964.60. However, it fell 34.45 points to 22084.85 at 11.05 am.
Improvement in smallcap-midcap
Smallcap and midcap stocks facing recession for the last few days saw improvement on BSE today. After the NCLT canceled the ongoing insolvency proceedings against Coffee Day, a 20 percent upper circuit of 20 percent is being recorded daily in the shares of Coffee Day. Apart from this, shares like MPSL, NACL Jyoti CNC, Vijaya, Epigl have seen a rise of more than 10 percent. BSE Smallcap is trading up 700 points today. PSUs, realty, metal, oil and gas index are also trading in a positive direction. All PSU shares except GAIL, NTPC, Gujarat Gas, IRCTC, NMDC have seen a rise of up to 6 per cent.
Other countries’ action against Trump’s tariff war
Reacting to Trump’s declaration of tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada, these countries have also shown their readiness to put tariffs on American products in turn. China has filed a case against the US tariff stance in the WTO (World Trade Organization). On the other hand, in view of Trump’s preparation for installing mutual tariffs, the Indian Union Minister has left for the US on an immediate basis. They want to discuss the issue with the White House and find a solution to the tariff. The mutual tariff will be applicable from April 2. In which the same tariff will be imposed on countries imposing tariffs on America.
