Washington: Hours after being sworn in as the President of the United States, Donald Trump has started implementing his election agenda by signing nearly 80 executive orders as the 47th President of the United States. On his first day as president, Donald Trump issued a total of 80 executive orders, revoking a dozen orders given to former President Biden, including the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
After taking the oath of office, Donald Trump gave the inaugural address and headed straight to the Capital One Arena. Trump signed the first executive order at Capitol One Arena in Washington, mandating full-time attendance at the office for all federal employees. Trump has canceled many important orders of the former Democratic administration. Trump has issued orders including pulling the US out of the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization and temporarily suspending new federal regulations.
Trump had canceled the Paris Agreement in his first term, but after Joe Biden became President, Trump canceled this order and started implementing the Paris Agreement on climate change. Now Trump has once again canceled the Paris Agreement by giving an executive order.
Promoting oil-gas exploration in Alaska
Trump has signed an executive order declaring a national energy emergency to withdraw from the 2015 Paris Agreement. Trump has also announced his withdrawal from the World Health Organization. Trump signed an order to boost oil-gas development in Alaska’s Arctic lands and repealed Biden’s order banning drilling in US coastal areas.
Reason: Trump wants to promote business in America. WHO runs on American money, so America took a step back to save money.
Ban on Tik-Tok postponed, 75 days of life!
Trump has extended the ban on short-video app TikTok for 75 days. This ban was to come into effect on January 19, 2025. It is believed that the Trump government will prepare such a formula that 50 percent stake of TikTok remains with America.
Reason: TikTok is very popular among the youth of America. Trump does not want to anger the youth, so he is trying to keep TikTok alive.
Ban on working from home for federal employees
Donald Trump issued his first executive order ordering all federal employees to return to office with immediate effect. Trump has also suspended appointments in all government agencies. According to Trump, we will give jobs only to those people who are qualified and loyal to America.
Reason: Trump wants to cut government spending and also remove Biden loyalists who have infiltrated the administration.
Transgender missing from government documents
Trump has mandated that US government documents will have only two genders, male and female. According to this order, sex will be written instead of gender in American government documents. Trump has also signed an executive order to immediately end all government censorship in the US and restore freedom of speech.
Reason: Anti-transgender attitudes are part of Trump’s policy. Trump also wants to send the message that freedom of expression is not in danger in America.
Construction of Dodge to reduce government expenditure and increase efficiency
Donald Trump has issued an executive order creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOJ). Tesla CEO Elon Musk will be the chairman of Dodge. All federal government departments will come under the ambit of ‘Dodge’.
Reason: Trump wants to cut US government spending and make it more efficient. ‘Dodge’ would cut three-quarters of federal government jobs by closing several federal agencies.
Gulf of Mexico, Mount Denali renamed
Trump has ordered to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Also, the name of Alaska’s Mount Denali has been changed to Mount McKinley. Barack Obama had initiated the name change in 2015 to respect the sentiments of the local people.
Reason: This change was made to show that the Gulf of Mexico is owned by the US. America is most active in this region, hence this gulf belongs to America.
Emergency declared on US-Mexico border
Trump has declared a state of emergency on the US-Mexico border (southern border). Mexico has banned illegal immigration across the border. Strict action will be taken against all illegal infiltrators and US Army personnel will be deployed to stop infiltration.
Reason: This step has been taken to prevent large-scale smuggling of drugs and people across the Mexican border.
Purchase of electric vehicles will not be mandatory
Donald Trump has signed an executive order ending the Green New Deal policy. To promote clean energy, the Biden government set a target of 50 percent electric vehicles in America by 2030, so people had to compulsorily buy electric vehicles. With the new order, Trump has allowed people to buy the car of their choice.
Reason: A mandatory policy of purchasing electric vehicles has been ordered to avoid shock to the American car and vehicle industry.
