US President-Elect Donald Trump on Sunday (December 15) appointed Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes on the post of Chairman of President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. Truth Social is a social media platform launched by Trump after he got banned from established networks like Twitter (Now X), Facebook and more in 2021 following Capitol Hill violence.

As he made the announcement about Nunes’ appointment, Trump underlined his experience as former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Trump also spoke about Nunes’ work in exposing Russian interference issue in US Presidential Election 2024.

“I am pleased to announce that I will appoint Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes as Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, which consists of distinguished citizens from outside of the Federal Government,” said Trump in a post on Truth Social.

Who is Devin Nunes?

Nunes was born on October 1, 1973 in California. He is of Portuguese descent. His family moved from Azores, Porgutal to California.

Devin Nunes attended Tulane Union High School. He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s in agricultural business and masters in agriculture.

At the age of 23, he got elected to public office and one of California’s youngest community college trustees in the history of the state.

In 2001, then-President George Bush appointed Nunes as California State Director for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development

He will now become head of President’s Intelligence Advisory Board which helps the president by giving him independent advice on extent and effectiveness with which US’ intelligence apparatus is meeting intelligence needs of the country.
