London: Khalistani supporters on Thursday attempted to attack Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in London when he was on a trip to Britain. He was returning from his car from an event held at the Chautham House Think Tank, when one of the supporters performing there attempted to attack his car. India’s Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized the incident and hoped that the British government will discharge its diplomatic responsibilities. On the other hand, Jaishankar reprimanded Pakistan at an event held at Chautham House and said that it should be handed over POK to India.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is in London on a 6 -day visit to England and Ireland. A seminar was held on the topic ‘India’s rise and its role in the world’ at an event held at the Chautham House Think Tank in London. In this program, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar said that in order to resolve the issues of the Kashmir Valley, the Government of India has removed Article 370 and gave impetus to development and economic activities in the valley. Independent and fair elections were also held in this union territory, in which a record number of voters cast their votes.

During the discussion at the Chautham House Think Tank, a journalist asked External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on the Kashmir issue. In response, Jaishankar said that the peace process in Kashmir has been implemented in three phases. Article 370 was first removed. That was the first step. After this, along with development and economic activities, social justice was also implemented in Kashmir. The third step was to get voted with good percentage without any fear. The Foreign Minister further said that, I think we are waiting for the day when Pakistan will return the stolen part of PoK to India. Once this work is done, the Kashmir problem will be solved.

When Jaishankar was leaving his car, a Khalistani supporter broke the police cordon and came in front of his car and started shouting slogans. He tore the Indian national flag and started hoisting the flag of Khalistan. However, the London Police safely expelled Jaishankar from the scene after controlling the Khalistani supporter. The video of this incident has gone viral. Now the Ministry of External Affairs in India has strongly criticized this incident. The ministry said that we have seen footage of security violations during the foreign minister’s visit to Britain. We strongly condemn the inflammatory activity of this small group of separatists and extremists. We also criticize the misuse of democratic freedom through such elements. We hope that the British government will fully follow its political obligations in such cases.
