It is estimated that about 1 million passengers travel by local buses per day. However, the ST Mahamandal itself admitted that the bus fare was extended on 1 August 2023. At that time, the bus fares were increased by 25 percent. The incident has been barely a year and a half, when the Gujarat ST Mahamandal has decided to suddenly increase the ST bus fare by 10 percent today to compensate for the deficit of ST Mahamandal, due to which 27 lakh passengers traveling daily will have to pay an additional bus fare of Rs 10. 1 to Rs. 48 km per 48 km as per route. It is estimated that the increase in bus fares will increase the daily income of ST Corporation by an average of more than Rs 5000. 50 lakhs However, ST Corporation argues that an increase of 10 percent bus fares will not affect the common passengers.
