Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 has began. It saw 3.5 crore people taking the holy dip on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, while a total of 45 crore people are expected to witness the celebration before it ends on Maha Shivratri (February 26). There are several reels which are rolling out on the internet from the grand festival at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

A viral video draws the attention towards a travel vlogger named Vishal Chowdhary who has turned chaiwala at this major gathering. He is mainly followed by Instagram users for his travel reels, however, in his recent video, Chowdhary shared about becoming a tea seller at the Maha Kumbh Mela.

“Friends, I am at the Maha Kumbh Mela now. I have unlocked a new business idea here. As you have heard a crowd comprising 40-45 crore people will be coming to visit Maha Kumbh Mela, I will sell lemon tea to them. Lemon tea will save the cost of milk and it is easy to procure hot water. All you need are some lemons and masala. This lemon tea can make you a lakhpati“, he said.

In the video, he pointed out that he would earn around Rs. 10,000 per day by selling a cup of lemon tea for only Rs. 10. Doing so for even five days could make him earn Rs. 50,000.

Netizens were impressed with his business idea at Maha Kumbh Mela. “Woooooooooow great idea”, they commented on his reel as it went viral on social media. So far, his tea-selling video has rocked nine million views on Instagram and received more than five lakh likes.

Instagram is also rolling out videos showing content creators how they would earn a good sum even if they start collecting just one rupee from every attendee. As the Maha Kumbh Mela is expected to see 45 crore visitors this year, many influencers posted reels sharing the idea of making money by collecting Rs. 1 from every person to sack Rs. 45 crore.

Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

The Maha Kumbh Mela is a significant celebration taking place after 144 years. “It is an integral part of Indian tradition…The festival is a testament to the human quest for divine and spiritual liberation, representing the belief in freedom from the continuous cycle of birth, death, and rebirth”, describes the official website dedicated to Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

It further adds that the celebration, which runs between January 13 to February 26, 2024, is a gathering where people come to immerse themselves in the Triveni Sangam – the confluence of the holy waters of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati, symbolising a purification of the soul and, as believed, a path to attaining Moksha or liberation.
