Now passengers will be able to carry only 7 kg of luggage in one bag. Let us tell you whether the weight of the handbag will also be added to it or not.

If you frequently travel by flight, then it is important for you to know about the rules changed for flight passengers by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have amended the hand baggage rules for passengers traveling by flight. Now passengers traveling on domestic flight or international flight will be allowed to carry only one bag during the journey. It also includes a hand bag. That means if the hand bag weighs 4 kg then you can carry only 3 kg more.

 

Not only this, only 7 kg weight can be carried in it. Any bag you carry with you must be checked. Let us tell you that the limit of up to 7 kg will be applicable to economy and premium economy class passengers. Whereas passengers traveling in first class and business class can carry a handbag up to 10 kg.

What happens if you lift too much weight?

For those traveling by flight, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have set rules regarding not only the weight but also the size of the handbag. According to the rules, the height of a passenger’s hand bag should be 55 cm (21.6 inches), length 40 cm (15.7 inches) and width 20 cm (7.8 inches). If a passenger carries a hand bag or cabin bag exceeding the weight or size as per these rules, additional charges will be levied.
