The important highway connecting Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will be widened and strengthened. The government has resumed the land acquisition process to speed up the project. This will make the journey between the cities of the two states fast, safe and comfortable.
Etawah will travel from Kannauj and easy
Now the journey from Etawah to Kannauj will be even more easy. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has sanctioned Rs 981.14 crore to make Etawah-Kannauj National Highway 91A four lane. After the completion of this project, connectivity of Bundelkhand to Agra-Lucknow Expressway will be improved.
With the formation of four lanes, the distance between Etawah and Kannauj will be reduced and the time of travel will decrease. The process of land acquisition has also been started to widen this road.
The project stopped due to non -acquisition of land
In 2017, the Public Works Department (PWD) proposed to convert NHAI to Etawah-Bareilly National Highway from Bharthana Crossroads to Etawah-Kannauj National Highway 91-A to four lane. The project was approved by Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2020.
However, the project could not be completed due to delay in land acquisition. Now after approval of Rs 981.14 crore, this highway construction work will be started soon.
Traffic between Etawah and Kannauj will be smooth
After the formation of Four Lane National Highway, traffic between Etawah and Kannauj will be more easy than before. The width of the highway will be increased from 7 meters to 10 meters. A new toll plaza will be built in Bahpur to take toll tax from vehicles.
In addition, six small bridges and a new bridge will be constructed on the Sanger River. Many other bridges will also be rebuilt. This national highway will start from NH-2 in Etawah and reach NH-91 in Kannauj.
With the completion of this project, the traffic system between Etawah, Auraiya and Kannauj will be smooth and the journey will become more convenient.
