Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The proposal for passenger transport service will be put up before the next cabinet. According to announcement made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the government is preparing to restart bus services by forming a company.
The Transport Department, after preparing the proposal, sent it to other departments concerned for their opinions. The Urban Development Department and the Law Department have given their opinions. The proposal will be sent to the finance department once the opinion of the finance wing is received.
The bus services will initially begin from Indore and Ujjain, because there is more traffic on these routes than other places. Once the cabinet approves the proposal, a company will be formed to run the buses. Under this company, a few firms will be set up in some divisions. The buses will be operated through these companies.
A sum of Rs 100 crore was sought from the government to run these companies. After the companies are formed, the bus routes will be surveyed.
The government is chalking out routes for the buses in such a way that both rural and urban areas are included in the route chart.
