Badaun: Over 5000 residents of Sorha village in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh are living in darkness for the last 25 days due to theft of 250 KVA transformer supplying electricity a few days ago.
According to local people, thieves uprooted the transformer from the field and stole valuables from it and fled away. The electricity department has started investigating the matter.
After receiving information about the theft, the police and electricity department have started investigation. However, even after 25 days of the incident, a new transformer has not been installed in the village and the people of the village are forced to live in darkness.
The people of this village with a population of about 5000 are facing a lot of problems without electricity. The worst situation is for those students who are preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Board Exam to be held in February.
According to local people, without electricity, students are unable to study at night, due to which their future is in danger. Village head Satpal Singh says that due to interruption in electricity supply, the education of the students of the village is being adversely affected. Even basic necessities like inverters and mobile charging are not available.
