Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), May 5: In a shocking incident, what was meant to be a day filled with joy, music and wedding celebrations turned into a heart-breaking tragedy in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun. A young bride-to-be passed away suddenly from a suspected heart attack while dancing during her haldi ceremony.
The 22-year-old girl collapsed and died after dancing enthusiastically at her haldi ceremony in the village. Videos have surfaced on social media in which the girl is seen dancing during the function.
The incident reportedly occurred in Noorpur Pinoni village which falls under the Islamnagar Police Station area of Badaun district on Sunday (May 04) night. The bride and her family were preparing for one of the happiest days of their lives. The haldi ceremony had just been completed and the atmosphere was full of laughter, music and dancing.
According to reports, the bride was happily dancing with her friends and relatives after the haldi ritual when she suddenly collapsed. Despite immediate attempts to help, the young woman could not be saved. She was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead and initial reports suggest that she suffered a massive heart attack.
The Barat Was Scheduled for the Next Day
The groom’s wedding procession (barat) was supposed to arrive on Monday morning. Instead of the bride being sent off in a beautifully decorated palanquin (doli), her body was carried for her funeral rites. The dream of marriage turned into an unimaginable loss overnight.
Family and Villagers in Deep Grief
The sudden death of the bride has left her family shattered. Her mother became unconscious from shock and grief. Her father was seen asking everyone with tears in his eyes, “Why did we have to lift our daughter’s body instead of her doli?”
Relatives who had arrived in festive clothing to attend the wedding were seen crying at the funeral. Villagers who had gathered to celebrate the wedding now stood silently, many with tears in their eyes, trying to console the devastated family.
One local resident said, “The girl was completely healthy. She had no known illness. We never imagined such a tragedy could happen at such a moment.”
No Medical History
The most painful part of the incident is the complete lack of warning. The bride was said to be healthy, cheerful and excited about her wedding. Her family had completed all preparations and the house was decorated with lights and flowers. No one expected this sudden and tragic turn of events.
Noorpur Pinoni village, which was echoing with the sounds of drums and wedding songs just hours before, turned completely silent. The festive lights still flickered, but there was no joy left. The smell of incense from the funeral pyre replaced the fragrance of wedding flowers. People who were ready to celebrate a union were now offering their condolences.
