Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai traffic police has appealed to the public to take the alternate routes on January 15 owing to the movement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other important dignitaries. They would be attending the inauguration of the ISKCON temple in Sector-23, Kharghar.

Due to the large expected crowd, there is a possibility of traffic congestion and law and order issues and hence the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have made significant changes to traffic in Kharghar.

On January 15, some roads in Kharghar will be closed to vehicles, and certain areas will be designated as “No Parking.” Therefore, the traffic department has urged citizens to use alternative routes.

According to the notification issued by the Navi Mumbai Traffic Department, both lanes of the road from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J. Kumar Circle and the road from Gurudwara Chowk to J. Kumar Circle to B.D. Somani School, as well as the road from ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1 to Gate No. 2, will be restricted to VIP vehicles, police vehicles, emergency services, and vehicles attending the event. All other vehicles will be prohibited from entering these routes.

Alternate routes:

Vehicles heading from Prashant Corner to Ove Gaon Police Chowki and from Ove Gaon Chowk to J. Kumar Circle can take a right turn near Prashant Corner to reach their desired destination.

Vehicles heading from Shilp Chowk to J. Kumar Circle and Ove Gaon Police Chowki can turn right or left at Green Heritage Chowk to reach their destination.

Vehicles coming from Gramvikas Bhavan via Green Heritage Chowk can take a left turn and proceed towards J. Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki via B.D. Somani School.

Vehicles heading to J. Kumar Circle or Ove Gaon Police Chowki from Central Park Metro Station can take a right turn from Gramvikas Bhavan.

Vehicles going from Ove Gaon Chowk to Gurudwara and then to J. Kumar Circle can proceed from Gurudwara to Gramvikas Bhavan and take a left turn to reach their destination.

Vehicles traveling from Gramvikas Bhavan towards Gurudwara and then to J. Kumar Circle can take a right turn from Ove Gaon Chowk to reach their destination.

Vehicles going from Vinayak Sheth Chowk to B.D. Somani School and then to J. Kumar Circle can turn right at Somani School and proceed forward.

No Parking Zones:

– From Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Utsav Chowk, to Gramvikas Bhavan, to Gurudwara, to Ove Gaon Chowk, and to Ove Gaon Police Chowki.

– From Ove Gaon Police Chowki to Ove Cricket Ground (Helipad), Corporate Central Park, Sector-29, to the event venue, to Bhagwati Green Cut, and to ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1.

– The road from Gramvikas Bhavan to Green Heritage and to Central Park Metro Station.

– Both lanes from J. Kumar Circle to Green Heritage.

“Fire brigade vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances, and all vehicles related to essential services are exempted from these restrictions. We urge with citizens to co-operate with the directions and follow the alternate route,” deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Tirupati Kakade from Navi Mumbai, said.
