Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A tractor driver tricked a team of cops and fled with his lorry carry illegally-mined sand four to six cops at the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border.

Acting on a tip off, the police personnel surrounded the engine and opened a lathi-charge on the lone driver, however this was not enough! The notorious driver sped up his truck and fled away, leaving the cops blank.

A video of the same has surfaced on social media. The incident took place at the Sagarpada Check Post at the MP-RJ border on Thursday.

The video shows a criminal tractor driver, carrying illegally mined sand, being stopped by the border police. Furthermore, he is enduring a beating from the police officials. Yet, somehow he managed to get away with the sand intact.

According to information, the police received a tip off about illegal sand being transported from Rajghat in Chambal to Dholpur, Rajasthan. Acting on the information, they set up a blockade on NH-44. When officers tried to stop a suspicious tractor, the mafia members resisted and created a ruckus. When they refused to comply, the police resorted to lathi charge.

Unfazed, the tractor driver did not stop the vehicle. The driver showed his will to get out of there by downshifting and revving the tractor out of thier way. In the video, it can be seen that the tractor was struggling to pass over the dividers. To curb the problem, the driver reversed and drove away on the wrong side of the road. The situation led to a brief traffic jam on the highway. Following the incident, police intensified their search for other illegal sand transport vehicles.

Sand Mafia active in Chambal region

The sand mafia has been active in the Dholpur region for a long time. Authorities have been cracking down on their operations, but the problem persists. In past incidents, even gunfire has been reported. The mafia continues to transport sand from Rajghat in Chambal to various parts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
