Government of India Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, along with Praful Patel, Administrator of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep, arrived in Diu on Monday on his one-day visit. On this occasion, senior officials of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, led by the Administrator of the Union Territories, were present at the Diu airport and accorded him a grand welcome.
At around 11:30 am, Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat reached the newly constructed Annexe Circuit House, Jalandhar, where he was welcomed by a beautiful cultural folk dance by the girl childrens. The Minister was impressed by the beautiful cultural folk dance. Later, the Tourism Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Annex Circuit House by cutting the ribbon and handing over the keys to the Taj Hotel Group. The Minister visited the Annex Circuit House and appreciated it. At the conference hall at the Circuit House, the Minister and Administrator Praful Patel were shown a video on the vision of St. Thomas Church regarding the Promenade Development of Diu and future tourism development activities in Diu. After this, Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep Praful Patel visited the Jalandhar Circuit House and then visited the Fort Circuit House. The Minister was very impressed by the beauty and grandeur of the Fort Circuit House and praised the Administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep, Praful Patel.
In the afternoon, Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited the Diu Fort along with the Administrator Praful Patel and appreciated its historical significance and its effective management by the Union Territory administration. He expressed confidence that the Diu Fort and the entire Diu region have immense potential for tourism and under the able and visionary leadership of the Administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep, Praful Patel, Diu tourism will scale new heights. Later, Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Administrator of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep Praful Patel visited the INS Khukri Memorial where they paid tribute to the martyrs. Indian Navy officials briefed the Minister about the significance of the Khukri Memorial. Later, Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Administrator of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep Praful Patel visited the Education Hub where students from Diu College and IIT took them on a tour of the Education Hub and also showcased innovative experiments related to education.
