Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A total of more than Rs 4468 crore investment proposals have been received in tourism and hospitality sector in Madhya Pradesh at Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 on Tuesday. The investment is proposed for expansion of tourism facilities along with projects like cruise tourism, film production, hotel-resort construction, water parks, golf courses, ultra mega projects in the state.

Investment proposals worth Rs 1960 crore for setting up hotels in various national parks, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), cruise tourism project at a cost of Rs 100 crore by Ayodhya Cruise Lines, cruise tourism project worth Rs 70 crore by Knowledge Marine and Engineering Works Limited (KMEW), investment of Rs 600 crore in ultra mega projects by Treasure Group Indore, investment proposals worth Rs 300 crore by Amazon Prime, Zee5 etc. in the film sector have been received.

Besides, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) signed six MoUs with various institutions at the Tourism Summit in GIS to boost women safety, adventure tourism, cultural and water tourism. The institutions include Make My Trip- ‘Pink Toilet’ in Orchha, Indiahikes- New Trekking Routes, Alchemy Cruise Lines- Expansion of Cruise Facility, UN Women- Promotion of Gender Equality and Knowledge Marine and Engineering- Narmada Cruise Line Project and Indigo Airlines.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said at the summit that Madhya Pradesh has many opportunities and possibilities for investment in tourism. ‘I am confident that in the coming time the Global Investors Summit will be only on tourism. Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that MP is standing at the doorstep of immense possibilities. ‘Invest in whatever opportunity you get here. I believe that your investment will not disappoint you,’ he said, adding ‘If I was not a politician, I would have been doing business in the tourism sector.’
