Top Portion Of Chariot Collapses During Brahmarathotsava At Bappanadu Temple In Karnataka’s Mulki (Scrrengrab) | X/@KannadaPrabha

Mulki: A portion of a temple chariot (ratha) collapsed during the Brahmarathotsava at Bappanadu Durgaparameshwari Temple in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday. The incident,which took place in Mulki town, was captured on camera and its video surfaced online.

In the video, it could be seen that the top portion of the chariots collapsed and fell to the ground during the annual festival at the temple.

Video of The Incident:

The incident took place at around 2 pm on Saturday. At the time of the incident, the priests were seated in the chariot, reported Deccan Herald. Thousands of devotees were pulling the chariot.

The incident caused panic among the pilgrims. In the video, it could be seen that the rope used to control the chariot snapped suddenly and the top portion of the chariot collapsed.

The remaining chariots procession was completed smoothly without any further disruption. No one was reportedly injured in the incident.

About The Temple:

The Temple is located in the bank of Shambhavi River at Bappanadu village of Mulki town. It is almost 29 km from the Mangaluru city. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Shree Durgaparameshwari. As per the legend Bappa a Muslim merchant is responsble for temple construction. Annual festival (Brahma Rathotsava) of the temple falls in the month of April.
