Toll tax increase on the highway of Lucknow from April 1, travel is going to be expensive

Traveling on the highway passing through Lucknow from April 1 will become expensive. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has issued a notification to increase toll tax, which will be applicable from midnight of 31 March. After this increase, the toll for light vehicles has been increased by Rs 5 to 10, while this increase for heavy vehicles has increased to Rs 20-25. These new rates will apply to many toll plazas on Lucknow-Kanpur, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli and Barabanki highways.

Toll tax will also increase on Delhi-Meerut Expressway and other routes

Along with this, vehicles passing through Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral and NH-9 will also have to pay more toll tax. After this decision, the toll of a unilateral journey from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut has increased from Rs 165 to Rs 170. Light commercial vehicles and buses are Rs 275 and trucks toll to Rs 580. It is worth noting that this increase is happening only a few months after the toll tax hike done in June 2024. Toll rates are being increased for a second time in less than a year.

New rates of toll at Chhijarasi toll plaza

The toll tax has also been changed at the Chhejarasi toll plaza on NH-9. Now the toll for the car here will be charged Rs 175 instead of Rs 170. The toll for light commercial vehicles has increased to Rs 280 and for bus-truck it has been Rs 590. The highest increase has been increased by Rs 590 for freight vehicles (more than seven axles). However, by 31 March, the toll will be taken at the old rates itself. Apart from this, the toll from Ghaziabad to Meerut will also increase from Rs 70 to Rs 75.

Toll increase on Delhi-Jaipur highway

The toll has also been increased on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. NHAI has issued a notification to implement new rates at Kherkidola toll plaza. However, there has been no change in toll tax for cars and jeeps, but the toll on large vehicles has been increased by Rs 5. This means that now these big vehicles will have to pay an additional 5 rupees on every trip.

24 -hour rule also changed on Kherkidaula toll

The 24 -hour rule that was implemented earlier on Kherkidaula toll has now changed. Earlier, if a passenger returned within 24 hours, he had to pay less toll. Now this rule has been abolished, and now passengers will have to give the same toll on every journey, as much as they used to give at the beginning of the journey. This means that now passengers will have to pay an additional 10 rupees on a round (go and come).

Changes in monthly pass and other toll rates

The price of Monthi Pass on Kherkidaula toll has also increased. Now Monthly Pass will get Rs 950 instead of Rs 930. At the same time, commercial cars and jeeps will have to pay Rs 85 from one side, but their monthly pass will now be available for Rs 1255 instead of Rs 1225. Apart from this, LMV (light motor vehicle) and mini bus will now have to pay Rs 125 instead of Rs 120 for single journey.
