Today weather update: The weather has taken a turn in the high areas of Himachal Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning for today, saying that there is a strong possibility of snowfall in altitude areas like Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur. Yellow alert has been issued due to heavy snowfall in these areas. If you are thinking of traveling to these areas, then it is very important to take extra precautions.
Snowfall can not only affect traffic, but can also affect the power and communication system. Especially in rural areas, people should arrange essential goods in advance.
Warning of rain in plains and medium altitude areas
While snowfall is expected in the mountains on the one hand, light to moderate rain may occur in the plains and medium altitude areas. Districts like Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi have also been warned of strong storms and celestial lightning. Residents of these areas have been advised not to get out in the open and stay in safe places.
Apart from this, light rain has also been expressed in Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una districts. Farmers brothers are advised to keep their crops in safe places as the crop can cause damage to the crop.
The weather will be clear from tomorrow
According to the Meteorological Department, after today, the weather will be cleared in the entire state from tomorrow and the weather will remain completely dry for the next five days. This will provide relief to the people, but there is a possibility of increasing the temperature again.
Temperature bounce: 7 cities mercury crosses 30 degrees
The temperature has increased rapidly in many parts of Himachal before rain and snowfall. At present, the mercury of seven big cities of the state has crossed 30 degrees Celsius, which is more than normal.
The temperature of Bilaspur has reached 34.6 degrees Celsius, which is 7.7 degrees above normal. The temperature in Una is recorded at 34.4 degrees, 32.2 degrees in Sundernagar, 30.5 degrees in Solan and 23.0 degrees Celsius in Shimla. The special thing is that even in cold areas like Shimla, the temperature is 5.6 degrees above normal.
The main reason for this temperature rise is to remain clean and intense sunlight for a few consecutive days. Due to this, people are starting to feel the heat and the people living in the mountains are also running fans, which is not usually done in the month of March.
There was a huge decrease in rain and snow in March
The march started with good rains and snowfall, but as the month progressed, the weather kept drying. Especially in the second and third week of March, there was no sign of rain and snowfall across the state.
Due to this, on an average 25% less rainfall has been recorded in the state till 26 March. While there is usually 100.9 mm of rain in the month of March, this time only 75.7 mm of rain has been received so far. This has increased the concern of farmers and gardeners, as the rabi crop needs moisture at this time.
