New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will watch the Hindi film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ today at 4 pm in the Library of Parliament Complex in New Delhi. Starring actors Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra and Raashi Khanna, the film is based on the Godhra train burning incident that took place on February 27, 2002.

59 people were killed in this incident, after which communal riots broke out in Gujarat. When Prime Minister Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat state, more than 1,000 people, mostly Muslims, were killed in the riots.

Truth cannot always be hidden: Amit Shah

Speaking after the release of the film last month, PM Modi had said that this fake narrative can continue only for a limited period before the facts come out. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also said that ‘the truth cannot be hidden forever.’ He said the film “challenges the status quo with unprecedented courage and exposes the truth behind that horrific incident”.
