Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday had assured strict action against those guilty in saline death and Malda shootout incidents.
Talking to the media about the saline death, Banerjee said, “An investigation committee has been formed and the probe is on. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty. We have done this earlier as well. The administration has taken steps irrespective of political affiliations. A person’s life is more important than anything. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already instructed the police to nab those who are involved in this case and strict action should be initiated against those who are guilty.”
Meanwhile, demanding resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from the post of Health Minister, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and few other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs visited Swasthya Bhawan and later also complained to police regarding the incident.
However, three women who were transferred to SSKM hospital remained to be critical even on Wednesday. On the other hand, speaking about the alleged infighting within the ruling party, the TMC national secretary mentioned that internal rifts occur when a party becomes large-scale.
“Do such rifts not exist in BJP or CP(M)? Internal conflicts exist among families as well. But, this does not allow anyone to do anything they want. The party’s disciplinary committee has always taken action against someone who does not comply with the party’s discipline and no exception will be there in the coming days,” further mentioned Banerjee.
