The election of TJSB Cooperative Bank’s Board of Directors, which has consistently been at the forefront of the urban cooperative banking sector in the country, was held on January 9, 2025. All the directors in this panel were elected unopposed. The term of the said Board of Directors is for five years from 2024-25 to 2029-30. Sharad Gangal, Vaibhav Singhvi, Shailendra Khandekar, Ramdas Hegde, Pawan Kumar Maheshwari, Sameer Patankar, Sachin Tatke, Dr. Ashwini Bapat, Pournima Ranade, KAVI RCV Seshachalam, and Bhausaheb Gaikwad have been elected unopposed.

Sharad Gangal has been elected as the Chairman of the bank, while Vaibhav Singhvi has been elected as the Vice Chairman. The newly elected Chairman Sharad Gangal is a member of the central executive committee of Sahakar Bharati . Sahakar Bharti is an organization, working in the cooperative sector. Sharad Gangal is the head of the Maharashtra State Banking Cell of the organization. Sharad Gangal,a veteran in the field of human resource development since 1984, has been teaching at the Human Resource school of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and in the Management Development Program of the Stockholm School of Economics. Sharad Gangal had been the Director of TJSB Cooperative Bank from 1997 to 2009. He has successfully managed out various responsibilities as the Director and Chairman of the bank since 2022 Sharad Gangal has an experience in urban cooperative banking and has been reelected as the Chairman of TJSB Cooperative Bank for the second consecutive term.

Vaibhav Singhvi, a chartered accountant by academics and profession, since a quarter of century has been elected as the Vice Chairman. Vaibhav Singhvi was a faculty at Vidya Prasarak Mandal’s Joshi- Bedekar College of Commerce for fifteen years. CA Vaibhav Singhvi has authored more than twenty books for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Vaibhav Singhvi has been working as the director of the bank since 2019,’and is associated with organisations working in the social milieu. Vaibhav Singhvi was the vice-chairman of the bank since 2022. Vaibhav Singhvi has been relected as the vice-chairman of TJSB Cooperative Bank.

The board of directors of the bank includes auditors, entrepreneurs, human resource development professionals , bankers, lawyers, doctors, financial-cooperative-banking experts and social activists from various fields.

The election of the board of directors of TJSB Cooperative Bank was held in accordance with the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. Thane District Collector and District Magistrate Ashok Shingare presided as the Chief Election Officer, while District Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Thane Dr. Kishore Mande was the Assistant Election Officer. The Election Officer Ashok Shingare announced the unopposed election of the Board of Directors in the special general body meeting held on January 9th 2025.
