Due to severe cold and increasing pollution, school timetables and methods of teaching have been changed in many areas of Delhi-NCR. While there has been a change in class timings in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi, studies have been started in hybrid mode in some areas.

New timing of schools in Noida

According to the order of District Basic Education Officer, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), studies up to class 8 will start from 10 am.

  • This order will be applicable to all the schools in the district (CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board and others).
  • The order is effective from January 16 and will remain in force until further notice.
  • This decision has been taken on the instructions of the District Magistrate.

Key points of the order:

  1. All schools will not conduct classes before 10 am.
  2. Instructions have been given to strictly follow the order.

Delhi: Study in hybrid mode

Due to pollution restrictions under GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) in Delhi, it has been decided to conduct classes in hybrid mode.

  • Hybrid Mode: Classes will be conducted both offline and online.
  • Studies were to start from Thursday after winter vacation, but due to pollution, classes will run in hybrid mode till classes 9th and 11th.
  • The Directorate of Education has issued a circular for this.

Board Exam Classes:
Classes 10th and 12th have been kept out of this change. These classes will run as per the pre-determined time.

Ghaziabad: Strict action on cold and pollution

In Ghaziabad too, changes have been made in the system of schools in view of increasing pollution and cold.

  • Classes 1 to 8: Schools closed till January 18.
  • Classes 9 and 11: Will operate in hybrid mode.
  • No restrictions have been imposed on classes 10 and 12 to prepare for board exams.

District School Inspector Dharmendra Sharma has clarified that it will be mandatory for all schools to follow these orders.

Gurugram and Faridabad: No new orders yet

Schools have reopened in Gurugram and Faridabad after 15 days of holidays.

  • Schools here are still operating as per the pre-determined timings.
  • In view of cold and pollution, no new order has been issued at present.

Possible changes: If the temperature and pollution levels drop further, new instructions may be issued regarding schools.
