India vs South Africa: India’s Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson performed brilliantly in the fourth T20 match against South Africa in Johannesburg on Friday. Due to this, they became the first pair to score a century in an innings of a team of full member countries in T20 International.

Tilak Verma scored 120 not out, while Samson remained unbeaten on 109 and both added 210 runs for the second wicket in just 86 balls. This is the biggest partnership for India in a T20 International match. India scored 283/1 against South Africa. This is India’s second highest T20 International score after 297/6 against Bangladesh.

In the sixth over, when India’s score was 73/1, Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson came to the crease. Both of them continued scoring runs during their respective innings. Samson hit 9 sixes and 6 fours during the innings, while Tilak hit 10 sixes and 9 fours. Samson completed his century in 51 balls and Tilak completed his century in 41 balls. Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma remained unbeaten till the end.

 

Before this, the feat of scoring two centuries in the same innings in T20I had happened only once. Earlier this year, Japan had scored two centuries in the T20 match against China in February. This is only the 7th time that a team has scored two centuries in a T20 innings.
