After conquering Perth, team India have set their sights on the upcoming second test in Adelaide. The Australia vs India Pink ball test is all set to begin from Friday, December 6 , however the weather is likely to play spoilsport on the opening day of the match.

The weather in Adelaide is predicted to feature thunderstorms, potentially interrupting the opening day of the 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with 40% chance of rain. The conditions could favour the the team winning the toss as the pacers will look to utilise the overcast condition and make the ball swinging on a lively pitch.

Adelaide Oval curator Damian Hough has shed light on the pitch stating that the pitch has been prepared with 6mm of grass to create a balanced contest between bat and ball. While the grass is expected to assist the pacers early on, spinners are also likely to come into play as the match progresses.

Team Changes ahead of Australia vs India 2nd Test

The day-night test in Adelaide will only be the fifth time that India play a five match match with pink-ball. Gautam Gambhir is likely to ring in at least two changes in their playing XI with skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gil returning to the playing XI with Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel likely to make way. Australia are expected to make one change with the injured Josh Hazlewood set to make way for Scott Boland.

India aiming for 2-0 lead against Australia

Having beaten the Australian team by 295 runs in Perth, Team India are looking to win the day night test in Adelaide and take 2-0 lead in the five match series. Aiming to win the BGT after a gap of 10 years, Australia are desperate to keep the series alive by winning the Pink ball test.

A defeat will leave them with an uphill task to win the series. For India, the match provides a golden chance to inch closer to completing a historic hat-trick of seres victories on Australian soil as well as punch their ticket for the World Test Championship final.
