Bhopal/Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): Three persons died and over 25 people were injured in a road accident that occurred late on Wednesday night near the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. A speeding tractor-trolley, carrying about 40 people, overturned after hitting a culvert on the main road. The passengers were en route to attend a wedding in the Lahaar area.
Following the accident, locals informed the police and the emergency services. The injured were immediately taken to the Sewdha Community Health Centre for treatment, with many being referred to Gwalior for advanced medical care.
According to information, the victims, identified as Mandavi (wife of Manoj Yadav, resident of Mangraul), Geeta (wife of Bhansingh Yadav, resident of Rampura Sewdha), and Anuradha (daughter of Satendra Yadav, resident of Mangraul), were among the 40 people who were travelling from Mangraul village to Lahaar. At around 11 PM at night, the tractor was travelling at a high speed. Due to the road being dark, the driver did not see the culvert and smashed into it, overturning the vehicle.
The impact of the flip was such that it claimed the lives of three people on the spot and further injured 25 others. As soon as the accident occurred, locals rushed to the scene and informed the medical emergency services. The injured had been taken to the local district hospital for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem.
