Three Held With MD Drugs Worth Over Rs 10 Lakh In Harda

Harda (Madhya Pradesh): Police on Sunday arrested three drug smugglers and seized drugs worth over Rs 10 lakh from their possession. The car used for smuggling of contraband has also been seized, police said.

Addressing media persons on Sunday, SP Abhinav Chaukase said following a tip off, a police team intercepted a car, which was on way to Harda from Handia. Three suspects in the car along with the driver were detained and questioned. 

One of them was identified as Parmanand Vishnoi (49) of Rewapur who was wanted by the police. Two others in the car were Ramdayal Vishnoi (62) of Baidi village and Harishankar Vishnoi (47) of Neemgaon. Parmanand was found in possession of 16 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 3.20 lakh while 17 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 3.40 lakh was found with Ramdayal.

Harishankar was also carrying 20 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 4 lakh, which was seized by police team. An FIR has been registered against the accused under NDPS Act and they were sent to jail, SP added.

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): Rainfall on Saturday exposed the development works carried out under Smart City project as commuters are facing problems due to potholes and mud present on main routes of the city. Locals said despite spending crores of rupees, the civic body failed to maintain the roads.

It is becoming difficult to walk even on foot on the roads, which are in a dilapidated condition, they added. It is worth mentioning that Satna received rainfall on Saturday. The rains exposed the quality of works carried out by the civic body causing extreme difficulties for the commuters.

Many of them received injuries as two-wheelers slipped on the muddy roads. Residents of posh Bharhut Nagar Colony said that they were forced to remain indoors due to poor roads and mud. Area resident Ramesh Kumar Singh said that Bharhut Nagar was worst affected due to laying down of 5.50-metre deep sewer pipes.

Moreover, digging of roads for laying sewer pipes is also underway near Vyankat School, Prem Nagar, Station Road, main road from Kargil Dhaba to Kripalpur, Kothi Road, Mukhtarganj Road, Sindhi camp Gate to Bus Stand, Ayushman Hospital Road, Jawahar Nagar to Pateri Road, Bypass Road, Jai Stambh to Vishwasrao Sabzi Mandi Road and Maruti Nagar Road.

Another resident Raj Bihari Tripathi said poor and muddy roads were due to sudden rains are causing problem to commuters at many other places in the city as well. However, the officials concerned are not taking any action in this regard, he added.
