Three Held For Involvement In Anti-National Activities

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three people, including a minor boy, were caught for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities, the police said on Thursday. It was said that they were active on social media and were spreading objectionable contents that may disturb communal harmony.    

DCP (zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma informed Free Press that following inputs from local intelligence and the social media cell, the Khajrana police started a search for three youths. Information was received that the youths were spreading objectionable content on social media platforms.

The Khajrana police launched a search for them and managed to catch them. Content of radical ideology which could spoil social harmony were found in the mobile phones of the accused. They were booked under sections 195, 196 of BNS and produced before the court from where they were sent to jail.  

The youths are aged 20, 21 and 17. The police said that their involvement with ISI and other agencies of Pakistan was not established so far. Further investigation is on to know the names of other people involved in sharing such content. The youths had left studies and were engaged in petty jobs in the city. 

ED At Shahara Family Residence

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reached the residence of Umesh Shahara on Thursday morning in connection with a loan fraud case. Shahara is the former owner of Ruchi Soya.

The team of ED comprising more than 10 officials reached Shaharaís bungalow near old Palasia square in connection with a loan scam of Rs 58 crore registered in 2021. Sources said the ED team reached there to recover some significant documents.

It is noteworthy that Bank of Baroda had filed a complaint of fraud against M/s Ruchi Global Limited and its owners Umesh Shahara, Ashutosh Mishra and others on May 29, 2021. The name of businessman Kailash Shahra’s Ruchi Soya was included in the list of willful defaulters issued by the Reserve Bank in 2019.

Recently, the ED is very much active in the region and has carried out four actions in the last 19 days. Out of these, three actions were carried out in the city itselfóat the premises of Piyush Chopra on December 12, at the bungalow of Congress leader Golu Agnihotri on December 16 and at the bungalow of Umesh Shahara on Thursday.
