Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked Congress for moving impeachment motion against Alaahabad High Court judge and said, “Those who hold constitution in one hand and strangulate it with the other hand, should be exposed by the people.” He also said that India needs Uniform Civil Code to end the difference between majority and minority.
On Saturday, UP CM addressed the gathering at the ninth global annual conference of the World Hindu Economic Forum that was hosted in Mumbai. He condemned the impeachment motion moved by the opposition in Rajya Sabha to indict Allahabad High Court judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav alleging that his speech about the necessity of Uniform Civil Code was an “incitement to communal harmony.”
Yogi Adityanath reflected on the need of UCC and said that a uniform code will abolish the difference between majority and minority. He expressed displeasure against the opposition MPs’ move to impeach Justice Yadav and said that Congress is shamelessly strangulating the Indian constitution while carrying a copy of the constitution wherever they go.

“Throughout the world, the policies are implemented according to the majority’s say. We need to respect the feelings of the majority community in India. Even the minority communities want to end the difference between the majority and the minority but these people have an old habit of suppressing the truth. They have always worked to taint the country’s heritage and should be exposed now,” he said.
He also attacked the Congress after the party was reportedly planning to move an impeachment motion against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. “The opposers are only worried because a farmer’s son is serving as the vice president. They have always believed that these positions are owned by one single family.”

Yogi also attacked former union finance minister P Chidambaram citing the latter’s old speech about India’s economy. He alleged that Chidambaram had said that India was never a wealthy country and the books saying that India was a golden sparrow should be burnt. He attacked the Congress saying that, “They consider Lord Ram and Krishna as mythological. They believe that insulting the country’s heritage is their birth right. The country has no hope on such leaders,” he said.
He also took a comical jibe against Rahul Gandhi saying that he might someday say “Ved Vyas and Valmiki were affiliated to the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He is so intelligent that he can say that both of them learnt about Mahabharata and Ramayan at RSS shaakha.”
Yogi also appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that Indians should be grateful to him for a new India, which was earlier facing an identity crisis. Appreciating PM’s crisis management during the period of COVID-19, he claimed that while vaccines reached to India after 100 years, India had its own COVID vaccine within nine months and administered it to people for free.
Talking about UP’s economic transformation, the CM laid out the state’s achievements at the special session organised at the global conference. He also invited delegates from across the globe to visit the 2025 Mahakumbh festival.
