Galapagos Turtle: A pair of Galapagos turtles, about 100 years old, have become a parent for the first time. This tortoise species is crisis. The zoo declared this news on Friday, saying that they are “extremely happy” from the birth of four cubs together, this has happened for the first time in their history of more than 150 years.

Said that these cubs are children of female and male Abrajo, who are two oldest residents of the zoo. The zoo said that the four turtles are currently placed behind the curtain inside the reptiles and amphibians, where they are “eating and eating well and growing.” They weigh between 70 to 80 grams, which is about a chicken egg.

When did the turtles come?

Why are these turtles special?
In the Association of Juz and Aquariums Species Survival Plan, Mummy is considered genetically the most valuable Galapagos turtle. This Western Santa Cruise is one of the oldest species recorded so far of the Baglapagos Turtle species.
The last group of such turtles was born in 2019 at the Riverbank Zoo and Garden in Colombia, South Carolina. Breeding couples are also present in San Diego Zoo, Miami Zoo and Honolulu Zoo.
