Ambience |
Instagrammable ambience
As I walked into the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its aesthetic. The interior featured soft pink, green and white hues with lush plants and warm lights, creating a cosy yet chic feel. The seating is diverse and fun, boasting stunning tables, sequined swings and the 12-seater private dining room (PDR), where diners can enjoy an exclusive menu paired with lively music.
Chef Rahul Desai, Culinary Director of Keish Hospitality, greeted us warmly and gave us insights into the inspirations behind the dishes. “We wanted to create something that felt indulgent yet light. Every element, from the ingredients to the plating, has been carefully thought out to enhance the dining experience,” he shared.

Culinary adventure begins…
Our meal began with the Wood-Fired Cheese Garlic Dough Balls, which set a high standard. As per the chef, the dough was made with 70% hydration and authentic 00 Italian flour. Talking about the taste, it was an explosion of cheesy flavours in every bite. The dough balls were soft on the inside, stuffed with creamy cheese and had a perfectly crunchy crust on the outside, completed with herbed butter.

It was served with two dips: a paprika sauce and an olive-based dip. After trying the dough balls with paprika sauce, it gave a tangy taste with a spicy kick. On the other hand, the olive-based dip had a fresh and herbaceous flavour. “We use 100% authentic Italian ingredients, including pomodoro tomatoes, to ensure every bite feels like a slice of Italy,” explained Chef Desai. “The dough is light, so you can indulge without feeling too full.”
Flaming Dragon steals the show
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Flaming Dragon Sushi. As the plate arrived, it was impossible not to admire the presentation. True to its name, the dish was a visual spectacle, with vibrant colours and dramatic plating.

Made with tempura prawns, asparagus, cucumber, and Japanese Kewpie mayo, the sushi was a burst of textures and flavours. Each bite delivered a satisfying crunch, followed by the creamy tang of mayo and a spicy kick from the chilli. “The reason it’s called Flaming Dragon is the way it looks on the table—appealing, dramatic, and delicious,” said Chef Desai.
For the main course, we opted for the Truffle Mushroom Ramen Bowl. This dish was light, filling and comforting, made with buckwheat soba noodles, mushrooms, bok choy, and sweet potato chips. The broth was warm and subtly salty, providing a soothing base for the chewy noodles and crunchy veggies.

“We’ve kept this light yet hearty, which makes it a hot seller, added Chef Desai. “The buckwheat noodles ensure it’s healthier than regular ramen, while the sweet potato chips, which we make in-house, add a playful twist.”

Equally special was the Javanese Curry with Sticky Rice. It was a creamy, aromatic dish infused with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and bumbu paste (made with turmeric, coriander, ginger, galangal, & lemongrass). The curry was loaded with broccoli, beans, and baby corn. Overall the bowl was a creamy delight with subtle spiciness that lingered pleasantly on the palate. “I wanted to create something different from the usual Thai curries. This dish combines familiar flavours with a unique twist, using a house-made paste for authenticity,” the chef elaborated. “You can only find this at Blah!”

Our food was paired with two refreshing mocktails: Nana and Mango Tango Plush. Curated by mixologist Dimi Lezinska, the Nana, with its berry-forward flavour, was refreshing without being overly sweet. While the Mango Tango Plush had tangy raw mango and jaljira notes.
Here comes my favourite part—dessert!
No meal is complete without dessert, and Blah’s offerings did not disappoint. Chef Desai recommended the Jasmine & Raspberry Mousse, an experimental dish that instantly piqued my curiosity, and we ordered it.

Made with jasmine puree derived from mogra flowers and paired with the tartness of raspberries, the mousse was nothing short of heavenly. It was creamy, aromatic, and not overly sweet—a perfect end to the meal. “This dessert is a labour of love,” said Chef Desai. “It’s for those who enjoy experimental flavours.”
