These big rules have changed from 1 April 2025, know what will be affected by you

FY 2025-26 has started from today and along with this changes in many government rules have also come into force. Some of these rules will directly affect your income, banking, education, tax, and everyday life. Let’s know about the important changes that have been implemented from today:

1. new income tax system implemented

From today, the new tax regime of the government has become effective.

  • Now there will be no income tax on annual income of up to Rs 12.75 lakh.

  • More income will have to be taxed than this.

  • Old tax regime will also continue, and taxpayers will be able to choose one at their convenience.

2. New rules related to UPI

The new rule related to UPI has also come into force from today.

  • The UPI ID which has not been active for a long time will be deactivated from today.

  • This change has been made in terms of misuse and safety.

3. Minimum balance in bank accounts compulsory

From April 1, the rules for keeping minimum balance in banks have been tightened.

  • If there is no minimum fixed amount in saving or current account, then penalty can be imposed.

4. No PAN-Accele

From today, those who have not linked their PAN and Aadhaar card,

  • Dividend, tax refund and some other facilities will not be available.

  • PAN-Aadhaar linking has now become mandatory.

5. TDS discount on FD

From today, TDS will not be deducted at interest up to Rs 1 lakh in fixed deposits (FD) and recurring deposits (RD).

  • With this, investors will now get full interest in tax free.

6. Changes in schools time in Uttar Pradesh

The time of basic and secondary schools has been changed in UP from today:

  • Primary School: 8 am to 2 pm

  • Secondary School: 7:30 am to 1:30 pm

7 liquor ban at 19 religious places in Madhya Pradesh

From April 1, complete prohibition has been imposed in 19 religious cities and villages of Madhya Pradesh.
These include places:
Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Orchha, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Multai, Mandsaur, Amarkantak, Salkanpur, Kundalpur, Bandakpur, Barmanakalan, Barmankhurd and Linga.

All liquor shops and bar have been closed in the urban and panchayat boundaries of all these areas.

8. Old trains will not get fuel in Delhi

From today in Delhi

  • 15 year old petrol vehicles and

  • 10 year old diesel vehicles
    Now you will not get fuel at petrol pumps.

This step has been taken with the aim of controlling air pollution.
According to 2023-24 data, there are about 80 lakh vehicles in Delhi, of which a large number are of vehicles which have now come under this rule.
