There are only a few days left for 2025 to begin, and with it many important changes are going to come in the world of technology. 1. WhatsApp: Will not work on old phones
From January 1, 2025, WhatsApp will stop working on many old smartphones.
- Who will be affected?
- Devices running Android 4.4 KitKat or older operating system.
- On iPhones with iOS 11 and older.
- Affected smartphones:
- Samsung: Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S3.
- Motorola: Moto G, Moto RAZR HD, Moto E 2014.
- HTC One
- LG: Optimus G, Nexus 4.
- Sony: Xperia Z, Xperia SP, Xperia V.
- What will be new?
WhatsApp will now be available only on Android 5.0 and iOS 12 or later. If your phone is old, update it in time or shift to a new device.
2. UPI: Change in transaction limit
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced changes in the rules related to UPI.
- UPI 123Pay:
- Now feature phone users will be able to pay up to Rs 10,000 per transaction through UPI 123Pay.
- Earlier this limit was only Rs 5,000.
- UPI Lite Wallet:
- The Reserve Bank of India has increased the UPI Lite wallet limit from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
- This change will make digital transactions more seamless.
3. Amazon Prime Video: Login limit cut
Changes in Amazon Prime Video rules may affect you directly.
- Reduction in number of devices:
- Previously, one subscription to Amazon Prime Video could be used on 10 devices.
- Under the new rules, login will now be allowed in only 5 devices.
- Streaming Limit:
- Now streaming can be done simultaneously on only 2 TVs from one account.
- Entering a password greater than this on the device will block access.
