New Delhi: India’s artificial intelligence (AI) region may face a shortage of about one million skilled professionals by 2027. In a report, in view of the increasing demand of AI professionals in the country, the immediate need to make the workforce efficient has been emphasized.

India has a big opportunity to become the center of AI talent. However. The report claimed that by 2027 the number of jobs will be one and a half times more than the availability of talent.

India’s AI region is expected to cross 2.3 million job opportunities by 2027, while AI Pratibha Pool is expected to grow up to 1.2 million, which will save more than a million technical staff with AI training.

The report said that AI -related employment is increasing at a strong rate of 21 percent annually from 2019, while compensation for AI related work is increasing at an annual rate of 11 percent.

Despite the increase in demand and attractive salary, the number of professionals in the AI region in the country is not increasing as expected. This poses a danger of slowing down the pace of adopting AI in industries.
