Bihar Police Headquarters has issued an alert to DM, SSP, SP, and Railway SP of all the districts in view of the increasing circulation of fake Rs 500 notes.

    • To conduct awareness campaigns to identify and prevent fake notes.

Identification of fake notes: What to keep in mind?

Police have given some special signs to identify fake notes.

    • “Reserve Bank of India” is written on the original note.
    • “Reserve Bank of India” is often found written on fake notes.
  2. Note structure:
    • The surface of genuine notes is smooth and clean.
    • Counterfeit notes may have slightly rough or strange textures on their surface.
  3. Printing Quality:
    • The printing of fake notes may be slightly blurred and the colors may be lighter.

Police have advised the public and shopkeepers to be cautious while accepting Rs 500 notes.
