Students will get another chance, stress will be reduced

Shivam of Lucknow, who is studying in class X this year, was worried about the board examination for the first time. But ever since CBSE announced the examination to conduct the examination in two phases, their concern has decreased slightly. Shivam says, “It is challenging to take the board exam for the first time, but if I get a chance to take the exam twice, I can do better my performance.”

According to the new CBSE proposal, the tenth board exam of the year 2026 will be twice:

  • First phase: 17 February to 6 March 2026
  • Second Phase: 5 May to 20 May 2026

The purpose of this change is to reduce the pressure of examination on students and give them an opportunity to improve their performance. If a student is unable to get satisfactory marks in the first phase, he can improve his marks by taking the exam again in the second phase.

Opinion of teachers and experts

Preeti Srivastava, a teacher of CMS School, Lucknow, believes that this change will be beneficial for those students who are weak in studies.
He said, “Students who will not be able to score good marks in the first attempt can avail the second opportunity. This will also reduce the pressure of the examination. “

Arul Malaviya, founder of Edtech company Jamit, describes this decision as a reduction of mental stress of students. He says, “This will not make students feel the pressure of examination at the last minute and they will be able to perform better without stress.”

Career Launcher President Sujata Kshirsagar also supported the initiative. He said, “This change will prove beneficial for students’ confidence and mental health.”

No change in exam pattern

CBSE has clarified that there will be no change in the method of studies and examination. The stage in which students will get better marks, the same marks will be added to their final results.

After appearing in the first phase examination, CBSE will not issue any certificate, but the result will be available in Digilocker. Students who do not want to take the exam for the second time can take admission in the next class on the same basis.

Challenge for teachers and schools

This change may also create new challenges in front of teachers and school administration.
Teacher Preeti Srivastava said, “CBSE has planned to conduct the exam in the same months, in the same months, examinations of other classes are also conducted. This may increase the additional burden of checking copies on teachers. ”

Malaviya believes that if the time of teachers will cost more in checking copies, then it can affect regular classes.

Will students take the first exam lightly?

Some experts believe that due to this change, some students will not take the first exam seriously, because they will know that they have a chance to take the exam for the second time.

However, overall this change is being told in the interest of the students, because it will not only reduce the stress of the examination, but will also give the weaker students an opportunity to prove themselves.
