Global Warming Effect: The surface of the ocean is now more heated than ever, and this change has become a matter of concern not only for any one area but for the whole world. A new scientific study has revealed shocking that in the last 80 years the number of excessive heat on sea surface has been tripled. While in the 1940s, on an average of only 15 days, excessive heat was recorded on the sea surface, on the other hand, this figure has now increased to about 50 days.

This change is not just a statistical story, but the truth behind it is a danger bell for our planet and our future health. Scientists clearly say that the main reason for this is the increase in global temperature ie global warming. A new study suggests that about half of the sea hot waves today is due to global warming.

The research was conducted by a team of scientists at the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Reading, International Space Sciences and Belianic Islands University.

A big threat to marine life

Dr. of Reading University Jiangbo Feng warned that sea hot waves could destroy underwater ecosystems. Long -term heating of sea surface can destroy important marine habitats such as coral reefs, sea grass forests and grasslands. These places are like homes for marine life and if they are destroyed then all sea life can be in danger.

Know what will be the effect on humans

The effect of sea hot waves is not limited to the ocean alone. Scientists say that when the sea is hot, it also makes the atmosphere unstable. Due to which the incidence of storm and heavy rain becomes more intense and frequent than normal. For example, the cyclone Gabriel in New Zealand in 2023 became more powerful due to excessive sea heat, killing 11 people and loss of about $ 8 billion.

Risk of economic loss and loss of life

The number of hot days of sea surface in 2023 and 2024 has been at a record level, which is about 3.5 times higher than any previous year. It had a direct impact on fishing, tourism and livelihood of coastal communities. Encovi fishes went out of their traditional areas due to rising sea temperatures in Peru, causing commercial fishing factories to close and estimated $ 1.4 billion.
