Ranchi, 16 November (Hindu). The court of Chief Justice Diwakar Pandey on Saturday upheld the conviction of builder Christopher Ba, resident of Doranda, convicted in three separate cases of check bounce.
The court has upheld the sentence while dismissing Christopher’s appeal challenging the lower court’s decision. In the month of September, the court of Civil Court Judicial Magistrate Raj Kumar Pandey had convicted Christopher Ba in three check bounce cases of Rs 15 lakh each and sentenced him to one year of rigorous imprisonment. Along with this, the court had also imposed a fine of Rs 15 lakh each on the convict in all three cases. Christopher had challenged this sentence in the magistrate’s court.
