Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the long-pending Parvati-Kali Sindh-Chambal river link project is a major achievement for the state government. Yadav made the statement at a press conference on Thursday on completion of his one year in office. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of the river link project in Chhatarpur on December 25, Yadav said.
There were some issues with the forest department, which were resolved, he further said. The foundation-laying ceremony of Parvati-Kali Sindh river project, to be held in Jaipur on December 17, will benefit 11 districts in MP, he said. In the past four years, the farmers will be provided with 40 lakh solar pumps, which will help the government, too, he said. Now, the government gives power subsidy worth rupees thousands of crores to the farmers, but solar pumps will reduce the cost, Yadav said.
According to the Chief Minister, the government has worked for all communities in the past one year. When the government was formed, some people said Ladli Behna scheme would be shut, but money is being transferred to the accounts of Ladli Behnas, Yadav said. It is true that the scheme has caused a burden to the state exchequer, but the government plans to increase the sources of income, the Chief Minister said. The government, other than promoting public welfare, is also enriching the culture of the state by developing the places related to Ram and Krishna, he said.
Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain is as important as Mathura and Vrindavan are, because Krishna studied in Ujjain after destroying Kansa, and his education helped him create the verses of the Gita,Yadav said. To promote the welfare of farmers, youths, women and the poor is the priority of the government, he said, adding that a mission for these four categories will be launched from January 26.
Bhopal, Indore to become metropolitan cities
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said Indore and Bhopal will be made metropolitan cities. He said the combination of Indore metropolitan areas would consist of Ujjain, Dewas and Dhar. Similarly, Bhopal metropolitan area will consist of Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha and Biaora.
Will go to Kaziranga to know how to keep elephants: CM
Mohan Yadav has said MP has 100 elephants. The way tiger reserves have been set up similar arrangements will be made for elephants, he said, adding that he himself will go to Kaziranga to learn how to manage elephants.
