Budget session On the fifth day of the fifth day, there was an uproar over the issue of bringing Indians back to America in Parliament. As soon as the proceedings started at 11 am, the opposition demanded a discussion on the issue. Along with this, opposition MPs also raised slogans of ‘Sarkar Shame Karo’.
Opposition MP arrived wearing handcuffs
Opposition MPs demonstrated outside Parliament wearing handcuffs. Congress leader KC Venugopal was seen wearing handcuffs. Apart from this, many MPs including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Shashi Tharoor participated in the protests.
The proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon.
The opposition created a ruckus in both the houses of Parliament demanding a discussion on the issue of sending illegal Indian citizens back in the US, after which the Rajya Sabha proceedings were postponed till 12 noon.
Uproar in Lok Sabha on exile issue
Opposition MPs also created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on the issue of US exile. On this, the Lok Sabha Speaker said, “This is a matter of foreign policy, there is no need to create much ruckus on it.” After this, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were also adjourned till 12 noon.
