HMPV virus is wreaking havoc in China, now its new variant has been named. A new variant of MPOX virus clade 1B has emerged. The infection with this virus was found in a traveler from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Apart from this, four other people have also been infected after coming in contact with him. The infected people have been kept in isolation ward. People in China are already getting infected with the HMPV virus. In such a situation, the new type of monkeypox infection has further increased the concerns of the health department.
What is mpox virus?
After the emergence of a new type of monkeypox, China’s CDC (Centers for Disease Control) increased testing and tracing facilities in other provinces (Zhejiang, Guangdong, Beijing, and Tianjin). People have also been appealed to maintain social distance and take care of cleanliness. Red spots and rashes have been seen on the body in the new cases of empox or monkeypox (clade 1B). The infected persons have been kept in isolation wards under the supervision of doctors. Monkeypox virus is a viral infection that usually spreads from animals to humans.
what are the symptoms?
Officials with China’s Centers for Disease Control said patients with Ampox had rash and herpes-like symptoms. Initially, red spots appear on the body, which later develop into large blisters or even acne. Due to this the vaccine starts coming out. Fever, headache, chills, muscle pain are common symptoms of ampox.
CDC appealed to the public
The Centers for Disease Control has advised people to avoid traveling to infected states. The CDC said people should not travel to states where the infection is spreading rapidly. CDC has issued a notice on social media platforms. It has also requested people to avoid contact with ‘Ampox’ patients or persons showing suspected symptoms of ‘Ampox’. It is a common cold and respiratory disease. Symptoms of empox usually last for 2-4 weeks.
