What is One Nation One Subscription Scheme: Masters, PhD or scholar students can now complete their research work easily. The Central Government has launched an important scheme One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) for students, teachers and researchers. The Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved this scheme.
The government will spend about Rs 6000 crore on this scheme. Through which information about how and where research is being done at the international level can be obtained in one click. At present 30 top international journal publishers have been included in this scheme.
How to get membership?
One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme will benefit students, teachers and researchers of all higher education institutions, universities-colleges, Central Government research and development institutions recognized by the Central Government. Membership will be provided through the Central Agency Information and Library Network, an inter-university hub with the help of the University Grants Commission, from January 1, 2025. In which you will get to read journal publications, research articles digitally.
More than 1.8 crore students of the country will benefit
During the unveiling of this scheme, the government said that this ONOS scheme will prove beneficial for more than 1.8 crore students, researchers, faculty studying in 6300 government universities of the country. Especially students living in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will benefit a lot.
