Jaipur, September 4 (HS). The health branch of Municipal Corporation Heritage seized 430 kg of plastic from a warehouse and also collected a carrying charge of Rs 39400. The action was taken on Ghodha Nikas Road in Ramganj.
Heritage Corporation’s Deputy Health Commissioner Sohan Singh Naruka said that on the instructions of Heritage Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Surana, the health branch is running a campaign against single-use plastic and those who spread dirt. The challan cell team of the health branch received information that a large quantity of plastic bags is kept in a warehouse on Ghoda Nikas Road in Ramganj Bazaar. On this, the corporation workers started keeping an eye on the warehouse. Waited for two days for the warehouse to open. In such a situation, on Wednesday, the corporation squad raided the warehouse after getting information about its opening, on which a large quantity of plastic bags were found. The corporation workers seized 430 kg of plastic and issued a challan of 20 thousand. During this, the trader was also made to take an oath not to keep single-use plastic and to protect the environment. At the same time, the health branch took action in different areas and issued challans for spreading dirt and garbage. In which the corporation’s Chief Health Inspector team collected a challan of Rs 13200 and the challan cell collected a carrying charge of Rs 6200. Health Department Deputy Commissioner Sohan Singh Naruka said that single use plastic is extremely harmful for nature and human life. Its use should be avoided. The corporation is also going among the common people and traders and telling them about its side effects. Still, challan process is also being done for using it.
More than 1955 kgs of banned single-use plastic has been confiscated, fine of more than 21 lakh 64 thousand rupees has been imposed. Till now, more than 2 thousand 500 challans have been issued by the Municipal Corporation Greater against the culprits using banned single-use plastic from July 1, 2022 by inspecting through the task force constituted in seven zones of the Greater area and more than 1955 kgs of banned single-use plastic has been confiscated and a fine amount of more than 21 lakh 64 thousand rupees has been collected.
Municipal Corporation Greater Commissioner Rukm. Riyad said that the manufacturing, import, storage, distribution, sale and use of single-use plastic items has been prohibited. In compliance with which, Municipal Corporation Greater Jaipur has formed a task force in 7 zones. Under which a team of Zone Deputy Commissioner Revenue Officer, Chief S.tation Inspector, Ward S.tation Inspector, Constable has been formed. They conduct inspections at vegetable market, fruit market, restaurant, hotel etc. places on a daily basis. Till now, more than 2 thousand 500 inspections have been done by the teams of Municipal Corporation Greater. And the formed teams have issued more than 2 thousand 500 challans and collected a fine amount of Rs 21 lakh 64 thousand from the culprits. He said that workshops were also org.zed for public awareness with representatives of marriage garden operators, business boards, school operators, street vendors, hotels, restaurants, dhabas and religious org.zations regarding banned single-use plastic. In which advice was given not to use banned single-use plastic.
