Union Cabinet: Union Railways and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the decisions taken in the Union Cabinet. In which he informed that 4 projects of the Ministry of Railways have been approved. The total cost of which is Rs 18,658 crore. These projects will expand the current network of Indian Railways for about 1,247 km, covering 15 districts of Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

It is included in 4 projects of the Ministry of Railways.

Union Minister Vaishnav held a press conference on Friday. During this, he said, “Projects include Sambalpur-Jerpada third and fourth lines, Jharsuguda-Governance Third and Fourth Lines, Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Paraklis fifth and sixth line and Gondia-Balharshah doubling.”

‘Rail operations will be simple with multi-tracking proposal’

Minister Vaishnav said, ‘Traffic will improve with the expansion of the railway line. This will improve the efficiency and service credibility of Indian Railways. These multi-tracking proposals will make the railway operations smooth and reduce congestion.

’19 new railway stations will be built ‘

The Railway Minister said that 19 new stations will also be built. The construction of stations will increase contact with Gadchiroli in Maharashtra and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. Increased connectivity will benefit about 3350 villages and about 47.25 lakh people.

’88 .77 MTPA additional freight will be traffic ‘

According to the Railway Minister, due to these projects, new areas like Kharsia-Nayi Raipur-Parakalkasa Baloda Bazar will get direct railway connectivity. The advantage of this will be that this will create possibilities of setting up new industrial units including cement plants in this area. These routes are essential for the transport of agricultural products, fertilizers, coal, iron ore, steel, cement, limestone etc. As a result of capacity increase, 88-77 million tonnes of (MTPA) per year will be able to handling additional cargo handling.

‘Railway is a skilled means of transport’

Minister Vaishnav said that railway is a means of environmentally friendly and energy efficient transport. This will help achieve climate goals, reduce the country’s logistics costs, reduce oil imports (950 million liters) and reduce the CO2 emission (477 million kg), which is equivalent to planting 190 million trees.
