Mumbai: The biggest exporter of honey to America can face India’s honey industry tariff war. Compared to India, other countries like New Zealand, Argentina and United Kingdom (UK) are likely to benefit. The industry says that China, the second largest exporter of honey, will also be affected by this.

Although local producers hope that the demand for Indian honey in the US will remain strong, as the quality of Indian honey is better than other countries, but there are concerns about the impact on sale due to the expected price increase due to tariffs.

In 2023, India exported natural honey worth $ 185 million, out of which $ 161 million was sent to the United States alone.

The US already has 5.80 percent anti-dumping fee on Indian honey. An exporter said that if this fee is removed, the situation may be favorable for India’s honey industry.
